Mission Statement:

MY PHILOSOPHY OF COUNSELLING
Each human, male and female, is created in the image of God and as such has the capacity for the personal, emotional, rational and volitional.  Created in the image of God we express ourselves and find ourselves in community.  Problems develop for people when their needs for security and significance are not met communally.  Through reconciliation of significant relationships, people achieve a higher level of functioning in regard to life’s challenges.  They will be able to self heal, generate options, maintain change, have more fulfilling relationships, better psychosocial and emotional adjustment, less anxiety and depression,  maintain addiction abstinence, make calmer less reactive choices, have a strong sense of personal identity and feel that they can meet their goals.  People then will feel more in control of their life instead of being controlled by events.  For the Christian the resurrection power of Christ is real, but without the context of a supportive community, the power of the Holy Spirit is sadly diminished in our lives.
