Mission Statement:

As a therapist, I see myself as a consultant to my clients as I  commit to assisting them in the process of healing, resolving relationship challenges and developing new coping strategies as they deal with their struggles. I believe in the potential for change in each person and relationship and encourage clients to find hope as they discover new ways of dealing with problematic areas.

I use a variety of theoretical approaches including cognitive behavioural, transgenerrational, emotionally focused therapy, narrative and solution focused therapy as a basis for the counseling. Using this eclectic approach enables me to collaborate with my clients and tailor the therapy to their unique and specific needs. My philosophical stance is  multicultural and systemic. I use the tool of EMDR to assist with traumatic experiences.

As a Christian counselor, I am committed to working with individuals, couples and families from  a Biblical Perspective. I believe in God’s healing power through His Holy Spirit and encourage my clients to rely on God’s grace and promises as they seek to deal with their struggles. Each Christian client comes with differing hopes and expectations regarding Christian counseling and, together, we decide on how integrating their Christian faith into the counseling is most helpful to them, whether it be inner healing prayer, prayer during session, discussions of  where God is in the pain or reflecting on Biblical principles.
