Mission Statement:

To provide free brief family mediation at Family Court sites in Peterborough, Lindsay and Cobourg, as well as free information and referrals to applicable community agencies. Also to provide education to separating couples on the legal and court processes, the benefits of mediation and reducing conflict in order to help children cope with the separation process.

Family Mediation: We believe that the harmful impact of separation and divorce can be significantly reduced for all family members, especially the children, when parents undergoing a separation are able to work together through a safe and balanced process of mediation, to arrive at fair and equitable separation and parenting agreements. It is recognized that mediation is not appropriate where there has been domestic violence or where there is a significant power imbalance between the separating parties. Experienced family law lawyers/mediators provide financial and property mediations, while clinical mediators provide mediations that primarily address parenting issues.
