List of Services: We provide counselling for individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and children in areas of: anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), phobias and panic attacks, depression, cutting and self-harm, abuse recovery (physical, emotional , and sexual), relational strife (marriage and parent/child), attachment issues, parenting struggles, life stresses and coping skills training, chronic pain management, sexuality issues, trauma, anger management, grief, conflict resolution training, life and social skills training, assertiveness and boundary setting, work-related issues, career struggles.

We conduct assessment in the areas of: employee selection and suitability, career direction or transition, executive leadership, performance management and development, personality, skills and gifts assessments.

We provide consulting services for variou HR strategies, including hiring and selection processes, training and development, and life coaching.

Fee Structure: All of our work is supervised by Dr. Lin, who is a registered clinical psychologist. Check your work insurance plans to see wheather you are covered for services provided by a registered psychologist. Most work plans provide partial or full coverage for our work. Our fees are also calculated on a sliding scale, based on insurance coverage and family income. We accept VISA, Mastercard, Interac, cash or cheque.

Mission Statement:

Dr. Lin & Associates exists to provide exceptional, quality counselling and consulting in a context of grace and truth. Our purpose is to empower our clients to manage life with integrity, authenticity, and wholeness by providing them with life-applicable tools for growth and fulfillment.

Core Values

• Providing grace and acceptance, and treating each individual with dignity and value. Realizing that we are ministers of God’s love and grace, we strive to be vessels through which His wisdom, insight and direction may be received by our clients.
  
• Walking alongside our clients respectfully, allowing God and our clients to pace their steps and learn to make choices for themselves. Making ourselves available to all clients, encouraging them to learn how to take personal responsibility for their lives and growth.
  
• Persevering with clients through fear, shame, and strongholds that hold them back from claiming the truth of God’s Word for their lives. Speaking truth in a grace-based way that encourages clients towards freedom and truth. Setting healthy boundaries that model and teach our clients how to take responsibility for their own lives while letting go of burdens that were never meant for them to carry.
  
• Helping people find their true identity in Christ, by reflecting through our actions and words, the truth that they are special, beloved and have purpose. Reminding all individuals of the promises God has provided in Scripture, consistently encouraging clients to claim these promises for themselves.
  
• Assisting families, couples and individuals establish healthy boundaries, attachment, and relationships within their family system, using Biblical principles and practical strategies that work. Teaching and modeling healthy relationship and parenting skills that reflect God’s design for families and marriages.
  
• Using the Word of God as the foundation to all counsel given within the office while integrating science and psychological research and theory. Where there may be a conflict between psychology and theology, God’s Word will be the final authority.
  
• Advocating for those clients who are unable to speak for, or protect themselves. We will always make it our aim to err on the side of safety for our clients.
  
• Establishing Dr. Lin & Associates as a place where counsellors -- who have been called into ministry using the gifts God has given them -- may live out their calling on a full-time basis while earning an adequate income.

Statement of Faith

God
We believe that there is one God and that God is an eternal and holy God. We believe that God is Trinity. The Trinity consists of God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, and God the Son. (Genesis 1:26-27; Isaiah 6:3; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14;

The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. We believe that the Bible is inerrant and is profitable for all of life. (II Peter 1:20-21; II Timothy 3:16-17)

Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. We believe that Jesus was man and God. We believe that Jesus lived a sinless and holy life. We believe that Jesus' death on the cross provided the redemptive work for all of mankind's sins, and that all who trust in Him and His death for us are forgiven their sins and granted eternal life. We believe that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day and is now in heaven, at the right hand of the Father. (Matthew 1:21-22; John 1:1; Philippians 2:6-7; I Corinthians 15: 3-8p; Hebrews 4:14-15)

The Holy Spirit
We believe that after Jesus returned to heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to indwell all believers. We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to bring glory to Jesus Christ, as well as to convict, counsel, comfort, guide, empower, sanctify, and seal the believer. (John 14:16-17; John 16:13-14; Ephesians 1:13; Acts 1:8)

Mankind
We believe that man was created in the image of God. We believe in the depravity of man, as a result of sin. We believe in mankind's need for a Savior, as provided in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:27; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:23; John 3:16-18; Romans 6:23)

The Church
We believe that all believers makes up the church. We believe that the church is the Body of Christ, with Jesus as the head. We believe that each part of the body has different characteristics, and that each part, though while distinct in their differences, are all vital to completing the work of God in the world.
