Kathryn Burton:
Education/Certification: RN, MSc, RSW, RMFT. Clinical membership with the American Association of Marriage (Couple) and Family Therapists and the Ontario Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and with the College of Registered Nurses of Ontario. Certificates: CISD, EMDR (2), Transactional Analysis:( three years training in psychotherapy). Masters of Health Sciences: New York State.

Supervised Training Experiences: Registered as a couple and family therapist in the USA and Canada - having met supervisory requirements. Three years training and supervision in Transactional Analysis and Gestalt Psychotherapy.

Professional Experiences: Counselling and Family Services since 1986 in Halton. Private practice in Burlington since 1990. EAP counsellor for the Halton Board of Education.

Mission Statement: I work from a Family Therapy perspective that views the individual as part of intergenerational system. Whether I work with an individual, couple or family, this perspective and my Christian faith, inform how I serve my clients.

I am a practicing Christian, willing to share my faith journey, as well as my values and beliefs, if asked. In my work, I practice acceptance and non-judgement of clients whose beliefs and values differ. I believe that the Holy Spirit works through us, using our talents and abilities to heal and comfort others.
