Mission Statement:
My personal mission is to enjoy serving God and others.

Professionally my mission is to have the joy of pleasing the Father by using my professional skills to bring healing to marriages and families and to people’s lives.

I believe that the Christian counsellor is one of the body of Christ and fulfills some of the “one another” Biblical commands in his practice: counsel one another, pray for one another, love one another and build up one another.

Within the five fold ministry the counsellor and therapist is a pastor who shepherds the flock. Like a shepherd the counsellor heals and guides the flock. More than preacher, counsellors constantly grapple with the issues of sanctification - bringing wholeness and holiness to lives.

As a transformational Christian Therapist my job is to bring discernment (which includes training and experience plus the gift of the Holy Spirit) to understanding the presenting problems. I am talking about having penetrating insight into root or childhood issues and other factors influencing a person’s life and being able to share these insights with clients in helpful ways.

As a Listening Prayer Therapist, my own term for what I do, I will use up to half of the 90 minute session in some form of a healing encounter with God. We may explore a memory in prayer; find what was believed and ask for God’s truth.

I do not see any of the ministry of Jesus, as described in the gospels, as being out of date. I want to be fruitful in the same way Jesus was - by listening to God. Fruitfulness is Christ in me ministering through me.

I have spent nearly 20 years in private practice Christian counselling. In all that time prayer has been a part of every session. I have gained in skill and learned from that experience, however, the most effective is to allow Christ more freedom to minister while, it seems, I do less.
