Wrap Canada
Shalem is actively supporting a new non-profit organization called Wrap Canada. Wrap Canada's objectives are to:
- Serve as a national forum for people and organizations involved in supporting children, youth, adults and families with complex needs using the WrapAround process in Canada.
- Liaise and support to allow local, provincial and territorial WrapAround processes to share information and work together at a national level.
- Build a national network of WrapAround practitioners that allows Wrap Canada to provide informed advice to government, business, education, social and health services, and other groups.
- Promote ongoing and sustainable funding for WrapAround initiatives across Canada.
- Provide research, development, training and advice to WrapAround initiatives in Canada on best practices in WrapAround.
In part, Wrap Canada grew out of the WrapAround Association of Ontario, an informal group of 12-15 WrapAround initiatives across Ontario that has been active for about 15 years. Shalem also actively supports the Ontario association and its partner initiatives.
Check out the Wrap Canada website. We encourage any interest and involvement, including becoming a member of Wrap Canada. For more information, email Wrap Canada's Development Director, Andrew Debicki.
